In a panel discussion, Eduardo Paes, Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Alberto Griselli, CEO of Team Brazil, and Luiz Perez, Chief Commercial Officer of King Salman International Airport, discussed the transformation of megacities into megaregions through infrastructure investment. Paes emphasized the need for urban adaptation to accommodate growing populations and suggested that improved connectivity between cities like Rio and Sao Paulo could enhance their quality. Griselli highlighted technology's role in reducing the need for physical infrastructure, with 5G as a key enabler for productivity and socioeconomic gains. Perez pointed out the strategic importance of airports in regional economic development and the necessity of addressing investment risks in Latin America.
