The FII Innovators Pitch event in Rio showcased nine young entrepreneurs presenting innovative solutions addressing global challenges in areas such as robotics, AI, health, sustainability, and education. The event featured two categories of winners: the People's Choice and the Jury Selection. Esteban Canepa, co-founder of SADIM, focused on solutions for floodings, while Ben Medland of Drift Energy developed renewable energy solutions using sailboats. Other notable participants included Arnobio Morelix of Sirius Education, Alan Hernandez of BioGrip, Paul Sun of IronYun, Artef of Woodzano, and Adam Ramirez of Green Freedix, each contributing unique innovations in their respective fields. Aline Neves from Sao Paulo, Brazil, won the Audience Award for her work with Aravita, which aims to reduce waste and stockouts in supermarkets, thereby addressing food waste and insecurity. Indicula Matthew, founder of Hera Health Solutions, won the judges' panel award for a nanotechnology-based drug delivery platform that enhances the safety and efficacy of therapeutics. Both winners, Aline Neves and Indicula Matthew, will advance to the finals of FII 8 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 31st. The event is recognized for its vibrant community and the urgency participants feel to make impactful changes.
